Parameters and metrics in Rank Tracker

Metrics

Volume

The average number of times the keyword was searched over the past twelve months divided by 12 in a specific country and search engine.

Position

Keyword position in search engine results page for the last day selected in the calendar.

Visibility

This is Sitechecker's internal metric. Visibility rate helps to measure the ability to get more traffic from ranked keywords. To calculate Visibility we use the Visibility index for keywords depends on their positions. Keywords below 10 positions have zero visibility index because they bring traffic very rarely. The visibility index for keywords in the top 10 is below in the table.

Position Visibility index
1 1
2 0.9
3 0.8
4 0.7
5 0.6
6 0.5
7 0.4
8 0.3
9 0.2
10 0.1

Below is a real example of calculating Visibility.

Visibility for keyword = Volume * Visibility index

Visibility in % = Sum of visibility for keyword / Sum of volume

Potential Rank

Potential Rank = Volume / Position.

This is Sitechecker's internal metric. It helps to sort keywords based on value (the higher search volume, the higher value) and chances to get this value (the higher position, the higher metric will be).
