How to use Keyword Research tool
This powerful feature is designed to help you discover valuable keywords directly from Google Search Console (GSC) and enrich them with comprehensive data, making your SEO more efficient.
To access the Keyword Research tool, ensure you have connected your project to Google Search Console. This connection is mandatory to start collecting keyword ideas. The tool is available for users on any paid plan, starting from the Basic tier. If you're currently on a Free or Free Trial plan, you'll need to upgrade to access this functionality.
Tool overview
The Keyword Research tool can be found in the sidebar, right after the Rank Tracker. It comprises two main sections:
Keyword ideas
Here, you'll find a top-1000 keyword list pulled from GSC, sorted by Potential Rank. The table includes default metrics from GSC, calculated metrics, and additionall enrichment metrics. This view helps you understand which keywords have been added to the Rank Tracker and which were not and their potential value.
By default, the tool displays data from the last 3 months, providing a fresh perspective on keyword performance.
Keyword list
This section allows you to organize and save your keywords into lists for future strategy planning, such as creating new landing pages to target valuable queries.
Key features
Various metrics
Default metrics: Metrics available for all keywords as they're fetched directly from GSC.
Calculated and enrichment metrics: Additional data requested, including search volume, CPC, and ad competition, to give you a fuller picture of each keyword's value along with Potential Rank, which are derived from GSC data.
Column management
Customize your view by managing which columns appear in the Keyword Ideas table, with essential columns like Keyword, Country, and Tracking Status fixed for your convenience.
Export options
Export your keyword data to CSV or Google Sheets, choosing between all keywords or filtered selections to match your specific needs.
How to use
Adding keywords to Rank Tracker
Select keywords using the checkboxes, then add them directly to the Rank Tracker for continuous performance monitoring.
Saving keywords to lists
Create and manage lists of keywords for strategic planning, without necessarily tracking their performance in Rank Tracker.
Filtering and searching
Utilize filters to narrow down the keyword list by country, addition to Rank Tracker, or specific URLs, making it easier to find the most relevant keywords for your project.
