How to use Overview report in GSC Insights
The Overview report in Sitechecker GSC Insights shows how your website performs in Google Search, based on your Google Search Console data.
It works like the Performance report in Search Console, but keeps up to 16 months of data and adds ranked keywords, ranked pages, segments, notes and brand filters.

What you can do with the Overview report
- Track clicks, impressions, CTR, average position, ranked keywords and ranked pages over time.
- Compare any period with a previous one.
- See your data by query, page, country and device.
- Filter by query, page, country, device, metric ranges and brand or non-brand keywords.
- Look at one part of your site with segments.
- Save filters you use often and share the report with a link.
Before you start
Connect Google Search Console to your project. If it is not connected, the report shows a button to connect it.
The first sync can take some time. Sitechecker shows a progress screen and sends you an email when your data is ready.
Date range and comparison
Use the date picker to choose a period. You can pick 7 days, 28 days, 3, 6, 12 or 16 months, this month, last month, or your own dates.

Open the Compare to tab to compare the period with another one. By default, Sitechecker picks the previous period of the same length, matching days of the week.
Metric cards and chart
The cards above the chart show Clicks, Impressions, CTR, Position, Ranked keywords and Ranked pages. Click a card to show or hide its line on the chart. At least one card always stays on.
The chart switches between days, weeks and months automatically based on the period. You can change it with the D, W and M buttons. Google updates and your own notes are marked on the chart.
Filters
- Devices and Countries: pick one or several.
- Query and Pages: add up to 10 rules like contains, doesn't contain, is, is not or a regular expression, joined by AND or OR.
- Metric ranges: show rows with clicks, impressions, CTR or position in a set range.
- Brand / Non-brand: show only brand keywords or only non-brand keywords. This needs your brand name in the project settings.
You can save a set of filters and use it again later.
Tables
The table under the chart has four tabs: Queries, Pages, Countries and Devices.
On the Queries tab, you see the top ranking page for each query. On the Pages tab, you see the top query for each page.
Hover over a row to filter the report by it in one click. On the Pages tab, you can also open Page Details or open the page in a new tab. Use Manage Columns to choose what to show.
How to use it in practice
- Start with 3 months and compare with the previous period. If clicks dropped, check whether impressions or CTR dropped too.
- Open the Pages tab and sort by clicks change to find the pages behind the drop. Then hover over a page and filter the report by it to see which queries changed.
- Use the Brand / Non-brand filter to see whether growth comes from people who already know you or from new search demand.
