How to use Rankings report in GSC Insights
The Rankings report in Sitechecker GSC Insights groups your Google Search Console keywords by position range, such as top 1, top 2-3 and top 4-10.
It shows how many keywords you have in each range, how this changes over time, and which keywords are in each group.

What you can do with the Rankings report
- See how many of your keywords are in each position range.
- Follow how these numbers change over time.
- See the keywords in any range with their top ranking page.
- Add keywords to Rank Tracker in a few clicks.
- Filter by keyword, device, country and brand.
How it works
Sitechecker takes all keywords from Search Console for the period you choose and groups them by average position.
Positions are rounded down. For example, a keyword with an average position of 3.7 is in the top 2-3 group, and 4.0 is in the top 4-10 group.
Chart
The chart shows one line per position range with the number of keywords in it. You can switch between days, weeks and months. Your notes are marked on the chart.
Use the checkboxes under the chart to show or hide lines.
Filters
Use the date picker to choose the period. You can search keywords and filter by Keywords, Devices, Countries and Brand / Non-brand.
The Top filter lets you choose one or several position ranges. It changes both the chart and the table. For example, if you choose top 2-3, the table shows only keywords with an average position from 2 to 3.
Keywords table
The table shows each keyword with its top ranking page, clicks, impressions, CTR and average position. A label shows whether the keyword is already in Rank Tracker. Use Manage Columns to choose what to show.
Click the magnifier icon next to a page to open Page Details.
Adding keywords to Rank Tracker
Select keywords with the checkboxes, or select all of them after you set filters. Then click Add to Rank Tracker.
Choose the search engine, country, device and other settings, and Sitechecker starts tracking the keywords daily. You can also copy the selected keywords.

How to use it in practice
- Filter by top 4-10. These keywords are close to the top 3, where most clicks go. Small improvements on their pages can bring a big gain.
- Add the most valuable keywords from that range to Rank Tracker to follow their daily positions.
- Watch the top 1 and top 2-3 lines after Google updates. A drop there costs the most traffic.
