How to use AI Traffic tab in AI Visibility

The AI Traffic report in Sitechecker AI Visibility shows how many real visits AI chats like ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity send to your website, based on your Google Analytics 4 data.

It compares AI chat traffic with your total traffic and with organic search, and shows which AI chats and which pages bring the most visits.

What you can do with AI Traffic

  • See how many sessions AI chats send to your site and how this changes over time.
  • Compare AI chat traffic with total traffic and organic search.
  • Find out which AI chats send the most visits.
  • See which pages AI chat visitors land on.
  • Check key events and bounce rate for AI chat visitors.

How it works

When someone clicks a link in an AI chat answer and lands on your site, Google Analytics 4 records the visit and where it came from.

Sitechecker reads this data from your GA4 property and groups the visits that come from AI chats. The other visits are grouped into organic search and other channels.

The other AI Visibility reports show whether AI mentions you. AI Traffic shows whether those mentions turn into real visits.

Overview tab

The Overview tab shows how AI chat traffic fits into your total traffic.

The AI Chats vs Total Sessions chart shows your AI chat sessions next to all sessions. The AI Chats vs Organic Search chart compares them with organic search. Switch between Sessions, Key events and Key events rate above the charts.

These charts use a logarithmic scale. This keeps a small AI traffic line readable next to a much bigger total traffic line.

Use the checkboxes to show or hide a line. Your choice stays when you switch the metric or between day, week and month.

The Channel Performance table compares AI Chats, Organic Search and Other Channels. Other Channels includes everything else, such as direct, paid, social and referral visits. For each channel, you see its traffic, key events and bounce rate, with the change against the previous period.

AI Chats tab

The AI Chats tab focuses only on visits from AI chats.

The AI Chats Performance overview shows the main numbers for AI chat traffic, such as sessions, key events and bounce rate, with the change against the previous period. If a number did not change, no change is shown.

A pie chart shows how AI chat traffic splits between the different AI chats, so you can see which assistant sends the most visitors.

Pages tab

The Pages tab shows which pages AI chat visitors land on.

The chart shows the top 10 pages by sessions in the selected period. Use the legend to turn pages on and off.

The table lists all landing pages with their AI chat traffic, key events and bounce rate, plus the change against the previous period. Use Manage Columns to choose which columns you see.

How to use it in practice

  1. Start with the Overview tab and compare AI chat sessions with organic search. Even a small share is worth watching if it grows month to month.
  2. Then open the AI Chats tab to see which assistant sends the most visits. Compare it with the Prompts report. An assistant that mentions you often but sends little traffic may cite other sources instead of your pages.
  3. On the Pages tab, look at the pages AI visitors land on. These pages already work as AI sources, so keep them up to date and make sure they lead visitors to a clear next step.
  4. Check key events for AI chat visitors. AI visitors often arrive with a clear question, so they can convert better than average.

Frequently asked questions

What does the AI Traffic report in Sitechecker show? It shows how many visits AI chats send to your website, based on Google Analytics 4 data, and compares them with total traffic and organic search.

Do I need Google Analytics 4 for AI Traffic? Yes. The AI Traffic report works only when Google Analytics 4 is connected to your Sitechecker project.

Why are the last 2 days missing from the report? Google Analytics 4 often reports the last 2 days with incomplete data. Sitechecker leaves them out so the numbers are not misleading.

Why does the chart use a logarithmic scale? AI chat traffic is often much smaller than total traffic. A logarithmic scale keeps both lines readable on one chart.

What is included in Other Channels? Other Channels includes all traffic except organic search and AI chats, such as direct, paid search, social and referral visits.

Why does AI Traffic show no data? Either Google Analytics 4 is not connected, or your site had no visits from AI chats in the selected period.
