How to use AI Visibility
AI Chat Visibility is a Sitechecker tool that lets you track how often your brand appears in AI-generated responses from ChatGPT and Gemini. You can monitor your visibility, see which sources get cited, and keep an eye on your competitors, all in one place.
What you can do with AI Chat Visibility
- Track how often your brand gets mentioned in ChatGPT and Gemini responses.
- See which domains and URLs get cited by AI models when answering your tracked prompts.
- Monitor competitor visibility and citation share alongside your own.
- View the raw AI response for any specific prompt so you know exactly what the model said.
- Filter results by AI model, country, keyword, and date range.
Getting started
To start tracking your AI visibility, you need to set up prompts. Here is how it works:
- Choose your keywords. Pick keywords with high search volume that are relevant to your brand or product.
- Generate or write prompts. You can generate prompts automatically or write your own. Each prompt gets linked to one of your keywords.
- Select your AI models. Choose to track ChatGPT, Gemini, or both.
- Choose a region or country if you want location-specific results.
- Save your setup. Once saved, the tool will run one tracking session per day for each prompt, which adds up to about 30 runs per month per prompt.

You can manage all the prompts by switching to the "Manage Prompts" tab

Prompts tab
This tab shows each tracked prompt as a separate row in the table.
The columns show:
- Prompt text (with the linked keyword shown in bold, including in the full tooltip on hover)
- AI model (ChatGPT or Gemini)
- Country or region
- Visibility (whether your brand was mentioned in the response)
- Citations and citation share for that specific prompt
You can also see aggregated charts at the top of the tab: overall visibility across all prompts and overall citation share, both calculated for the selected date range and model scope.

For any prompt row, you can open the AI Response Details popup to see the actual text that ChatGPT or Gemini returned for that specific prompt, model, and region.

Citations tab
This tab gives you a view of which domains and URLs get cited most often in AI responses across all your tracked prompts.
Since citations are shown at the domain level (not at the prompt level), results can be merged across multiple AI models. The AI Model column may show more than one model for a given domain, which means that URL was cited by both ChatGPT and Gemini.

You can click on any domain to open a popup showing the top cited URLs within it, with an option to filter by AI model.
Competitors tab
This tab shows how your competitors are performing in AI-generated responses. You can see their overall visibility (whether their brand gets mentioned) and their citation share, aggregated across all your tracked prompts.

Competitor data is shown at a summary level and is not broken down by individual prompt. Sitechecker pulls brand names from the competitor domains you add in Project Settings.
