How to use SERP opportunities tab in Rank Tracker

The SERP opportunities tab in Sitechecker Rank Tracker lists all pages that rank in the top results for your tracked keywords, without duplicates, and tags each page by content type.

Use it to find review sites, listings, forums, news media and other pages where your brand could appear next to your competitors.

What you can do with SERP opportunities

  • See all external pages that rank for your keywords in one list.
  • Find listings, review sites and forums for placements and outreach.
  • See how many of your keywords each page ranks for and its average position.
  • Filter pages by content type, keyword count, title or URL.
  • Open the list of keywords each page ranks for.

How it works

Rank Tracker already saves the top results for every keyword you track. Once a month, Sitechecker takes these results for all keywords in your project and builds one list of pages.

If a page ranks for several keywords, it appears once. Sitechecker counts its keywords and calculates its average position.

Your own domain is not shown in the list, so you only see external opportunities.

Each page gets one or more content types based on its URL and title. A page can have several types, for example a Reddit thread can be both UGC and Listings.

This tab is a monthly report. It has no date picker. The report date is shown in the header.

Content types

Sitechecker tags pages with 11 content types:

  • Listings: "best", "top" and comparison pages.
  • Info: guides and informational pages.
  • UGC: forums, Q&A sites and other user content.
  • News media: news websites.
  • Competitors: pages of your competitors.
  • Reviews: review sites and review pages.
  • Stores: online stores and marketplaces.
  • Government: government websites.
  • Education: universities and learning platforms.
  • AI Chats: pages from AI chat platforms.
  • WebDev: website and developer platforms.

Filters

  • Search in Title: find pages by words in their title.
  • Content type: show one, several or all content types.
  • Keywords count: show pages that rank for a set number of your keywords.
  • Page: filter by URL with up to about 10 rules, joined by AND or OR.

SERP opportunities table

The table shows one row per page. The columns are:

  • Page: the URL. Click the icon to open it in a new tab.
  • Av. Position: the average position of the page across your keywords. The table is sorted by this column by default.
  • Keywords: the number of your keywords the page ranks for.
  • Title: the page title from the search results.
  • Content type: the types assigned to the page.

Keywords window

Click the number in the Keywords column to see the keywords a page ranks for.

For each keyword you see its search engine settings, the page position, volume and KGR. You can sort by any column.

How to use it in practice

  1. Filter by Listings and Reviews, then sort by Keywords. Pages that rank for many of your keywords are the best places to get listed.
  2. Filter by UGC to find forum threads and Q&A pages where people discuss your topic. A helpful answer there can bring traffic and mentions.
  3. Check the Competitors type to see which competitor pages rank for most of your keywords. Study what they cover.
  4. Open the Keywords window for a page and check volume and KGR. A page that ranks for high-volume keywords is worth more effort.
